Ijin
Ijin legs are recogniseable as jeans using a definitive vintage outer edge, but have an unconventional "soft centre" feature. Ijin material legs are cut folded to open identically, left and right, similar to the paper-chain man. Hence the "one half man" used as the registered logo. Sometimes they are cut to wrap a seamless outer leg. Incorporating this "Foldedge" cutting technique, pioneered by label founder Philip Goss, Ijin legs are cut as one single piece with the centres folded on the naturally stronger warp thread. Crotch seams are reduced to a minimum and inseams are ambiguous, creating an optically slimmer shape to the real garment type.
